A Face at the Window
by J. R. Moore
Passing by the children's hospital as I journey on my way
My thoughts go out to those suffering - nursed and loved every day
A little child can ask no more than that love it is looking for.
Thank God for those doctors and nurses whose work brings them through the door.
Many children that are admitted may have to undergo the surgeon's knife,
At times this may be the answer to help to save a precious life
But through all the uncertainty Faith and Love will help the child through
To face the very future that is shared by me and you.
A child's face at a window looking out when it is visiting time
Hoping to see it's parents, as up the stairway they must climb.
Another day is just ending and tomorrow another will begin.
Once more those doctors and nurses carry on their duties through those doors within.
Remember that in a child's trusting eyes that Faith of all ages gently lies
Amidst all the traumas and anxious times prayers can help bring a pleasant surprise
I thank God for helping those children for in my heart I know
There will always be an angel in that child's face at the window.
